Bulker Bag Unloading System
Jacmor have delivered or should we say loaded the first two bulker bag unloading systems into the conatiner for export for a leading world mining company

The units are designed to deliver the powder material into large mixing tanks via a rotary valve, which ensures good flow control and sealing from any splash back of material

The bulker bag unloading sequence is set up using the pneumatically operated bag neck tongs to minimisie spillage during opening of the bag neck.

Pneumatically operated push plates to assist in unloading all the material in the bag.

A dust extraction system to remove surrounding dust during the dumping period of the material from the bag.

Relative safety switches etc are fitted to meet the requirements of the clients project and Jacmor's ISO9001 Quality Assurance Program

Cramming Vertical Screw Conveyor

Jacmor have completed another R&D project that vertically transfers the new viscous like food material in the hopper by using a cramming auger

The cramming auger is a ribbon type, with fine ribbons that force the viscous like material down towards the discharge chute and into an extruder.

The double reduction drive system on top of the hopper rotates the vertical auger at some 15 rpm.

This slow speed ensures that there is suitable torque to transfer the material and give positive displacement in a downward direction and also to get the material into the extruder

The unit is fabricated from stainless steel due to being operated in the food industry

Jacmor were very pleased with the first commissioning results and will continue to work with the client to ensure the system will be able to handle the range of viscous states the material comes in, this is part of the R&D program both companies are engaged in to achieve the best end result for the application at hand

As always with such projects, considerable time has been spent with design and manufacture to ensure the safety of operation along with the OH&S standards required in Jacmor's Quality Assurance program are meet.

5th Geneartion Morris Family at Jacmor Engineering

A 5th generation Morris, Managing Director Allan Morris, grandson visits the new Thomastown facility to help his grandfather load a truck, carrying two large Jacmor screw conveyors.

Young Cooper loves visiting the factory of a weekend, under the watchful control of his grandfather to work/play ?

With Allan's two sons, Chris & Brendon already part of the Jacmor team at Thomastown, Jacmor looks to be in good hands for the next generation if Cooper continues to enjoy his time at the factory at this early age.

7000lt Batch Mixer Ribbon

The 7000lt batch mixer ribbon is approx 1500mm diameter and is designed to handle four batch mixes per hour.

This batch mixer is part of a complete system having inclined screw feeders charging the mixer and a discharge conveyor transfering the mixed product to a holding hopper.

The ribbon has outer & inner ribbons to achieve a homogenous mix.

This ribbon is designed for centre discharge.

The drive & non drive shafts are sized to take the load at start up and during the mix cycle, Jacmor's expertise is used in designing this area as the last thing the client needs is the shafts failing due to loading?

Jacmor Batch Mixers have been used from heavy duty mining applications to light weight food products and each unit is sized and designed to meet that application.

As with all of Jacmor's equipment the unit is designed and manufactured to their ISO9001 quality assurance program.

A Lathe having a18m long bed added to Jacmor's Factory Plant.

Due to the larger and heavy duty mining screw conveyors, batch mixers and other material handling equipment, that Jacmor have been constructing over recent times, management have sourced a lathe having an 18m long bed which will assist our manufcature abilities and give us greater flexibilty re handling the long pipes and augers etc.

The lathe has already allowed the factory the flexibilty of straightening new augers, turning the larger shafts upto 220mm diameter etc. in house instead of outsourcing, thus resulting in better quaility control for the complete equipment

Jacmor are prepared to take in outside contracts to turn or bore long pipes or any other machining function that will assist a client or end user.

For further information please contact our factory superviser Colin Griffin on 03 9465 8777 ext 103

Auger - Handling 250t/hr of wood chip

Jacmor are currently fabricating a replacement 850 mm diameter auger that has tranferred in excess of 1,000,000 kg of wood chip in one of Australias leading woodchipping company's.

From Jacmor's past experience in handling wood chips and the success of this auger we continue to review the performances with the aim to improve the performance and life of these large units that are operating in many companies through out Australia.

One area that is always a major headache for the maintenance personnel is getting access to the auger and removing it, Jacmor have 2 heavy duty bolted joiners on this auger to allow the unit to be broken into three sections and then easily removed from its working position.

This type of joiner is not always suggested as the material being conveyed must be considered and its charctreistics reviewed?

Augers (conveyor screws)

A heavy duty auger for a mining application is being fabricated at Jacmor's, Thomastown factory.

The auger is 750mm diameter and 5500mm long.

The drive and non drive end (tail) shafts are bolted onto the auger center pipe to allow the auger to be removed for general maintenenace, without having to remove the end bearings, Impro product seals(air purged) and the SEW Euro Drive, series KA drive unit of some 500kg?

The flights are 10mm thick and are of the ribbon type due the product being conveyed is of a sticky nature?

Each conveyor is to handle some 750 t/hr having a drive of 75 Kw, thus Jacmor's 50 years of design & manufacture experience is one of the major reasons these mining projects are discussed with Jacmor and on many ocassions awarded for construction and supply.

Australian Mines Rely on THORDON Composite for Smooth Pumping.

Australian Mines across Australia are successfully using THORDON Composite Grade bearings for their various Pumping applications.

The Bearings are specially designed for dirty / aggressive operating conditions and easily outperform Rubber and other conventional materials.

The key to success of Thordon Composite Grade bearings lies in the inner lining of GM2401 Polymer Alloy. In abrasive tests GM2401 consistently outperforms other bearings materials. The Allow is fused to a high strength polymer outer jacket for extremely durability.

They are available in various sizes and lengths to suit different shaft diameters.

In fact the same grade bearings are equiped on the Cutter heads on world’s largest dredgers across the Globe.

JACMOR ENGINEERING carries them in stock and provides full technical assistance.

Should you need a copy of the technical manual or any assistance, feel free to contact Josh Sayed, Thordon Manager at joshs@jacmor.com.au.
